Fasting during the Holy Month undoubtedly provides the body and soul with a slew of physical and spiritual benefits. But the long hours of abstaining from food and more importantly water, can take their toll on your skin- which is why you need to up the ante with your usual skincare routine.
As someone who suffers from dry, taught skin on my cheeks and oily skin with hideous gaping pores on my nose and chin, I have never had the luxury of being able to use just one treatment mask all over my face. Even before it was a thing, I always felt that clay-based masks were too drying for my cheeks but hydrating cream masks were too rich for my T-zone. So what to do? Mix and match of course!
It can be really hard to recognise your skin type. Skin changes with the seasons and the surrounding conditions, not to mention hormonal imbalances and fluctuating stress levels. The intense sunshine and constant exposure to air con we experience in the Middle East means that dryness is one of the most common skincare complaints I hear all year round.
