Fire-engine red, ox blood, midnight blue or electric fuchsia nail polish; it’s all fun and games until it’s time to remove your favourite hue. Unless you’re wearing beige or light pink, nail polish removal is always messy and always leaves residue behind; but avoiding this beauty predicament is easier than you think.

All you need is a your favourite natural oil (like you needed another excuse to pull out the coconut oil!), a gentle nail polish remover, like Orly Gentle Strength Lacquer Remover, and some cotton balls.

Nail Polish Removal Method:

Apply a generous amount of oil around each nail. This will act as a barrier which will protect the skin and prevent it from getting stained when removing your polish.

Soak a cotton ball with polish remover then use small pieces to cover each of your nails.

Let them sit for three or four minutes then use the cotton to wipe in a downwards motions from cuticle to tip.

The polish will magically disappear in one swipe. Et voila! You’re welcome.
