It’s been a while since we’ve seen Lupita Nyong’o on the red carpet; and she made an explosive return with her debut at the Cannes Film Festival 2015. Glowing in a “grasshopper-green” custom Gucci gown, the Oscar winner shared her look on Instagram with the caption: “Thank you @Chopard @Gucci and Uganda’s women for the hair inspiration. #NseneneSeason #cannes2015.” “Nsenene” is the Luganda word for grasshoppers, which are a traditional delicacy in Uganda and are in season right now. Thank you Google.

Her oversized ballerina-esque bun was adorned with sparkling bands, but as always, kept her natural hair texture. Coupled with bold brows and simply lined eyes, the Lancôme ambassadress also opted for a show-stopping kick of fuchsia on the lips which popped against her complexion, upping her beauty game ten fold. To get the electric effect, makeup artist, Nick Barose layered three different Lancôme lip products.

He started by lining and filling the lips with Le Crayon Lip Contour in Plum, then applied a layer of Color Design Lipstick in Hit List, a matte hot pink. Barose added a final touch of glimmer with Shine Lover glossy lip colour in upcoming shade, 373 Palpitante.
