Abeer Al Yaseen Beauty Spa

A Guide to the Best Beauty Salons

Where: Abeer Al Yaseen Beauty Spa

The Lowdown: Previously known as Turkuaz, this salon cum spa is under new ownership. Renowned Kuwaiti makeup artist, Abeer Al Yaseen, took over late last year and has transformed the beauty spot completely. Spread across two floors of a beautiful villa, the beauty centre is spacious and welcoming- perfect for full-day pampering sessions.

The beautifully designed waiting area has a distinctly bridal feel, with crystal chandeliers, white floral arrangements and ceiling to floor lace drapery. Abeer herself specialises in bridal makeup and is often travelling between Kuwait and the UAE providing the makeup services at VIP weddings across the region.

The lower floor is dedicated to hair and nail services and is refreshingly modern and airy; while the upper spa floor has a warmer, more relaxing ambience. For those seeking a truly rejuvenating body treatment, the Kahraman Hammam is a must-try. Inside the private treatment room decorated with Ottoman-inspired mosaics, the journey begins with full-body exfoliation using the Turkish kiseh glove while you lie down on a heated marble table. Next comes the foaming soap massage where the therapist covers your entire body with bubbles and then uses the slip of the soap to work away any tension in the muscles. After a quick rinse, the therapist then massages a blend of perfumed oils from top to toe, followed by a second body scrub which dissolves in to the oils, leaving no trace of granules. Post-treatment, I was left to relax and refresh with a fragrant cup of Turkish tea.

With the outstanding décor, well-trained staff and comprehensive menu of treatments, this beauty haven just goes to show you don’t need to go to a hotel to get five star service.
