Summer is on the horizon. For us in Dubai that means scorching 50 degrees celsius heat and basically staying in the heavenly relief of air conditioning for four months of the year. But having said that, we’re pretty lucky that we enjoy endless days of pleasant, beach weather sunshine for the rest of the year; so we’re pretty blessed. If it’s still chilly where you are, looking forward to the gorgeous summer makeup collections can help shake off the winter blues.
From golden sands and warm ambers to iridescent azure blues, the new Dior Tie Dye Collection for Summer 2015 really brings the sunshine home, bathing skin, eyes and lips in glowing summer light.
Set to launch in April 2015, the range has at least one piece that will suit everyone (re: I must have everything- immediately); but the star of the collection is no doubt the Diorskin Nude Tan Tie Dye Edition Blush. Enclosed in a gleaming quilted-pattern chrome case, the stunning powder comes in two dreamy sunrise or sunset harmonies of tie-dye pink, lilac and peach that instantly illuminate the skin and add a summer warmth. A little of this powder goes a long way so be sure to tap off the excess before you apply it. Use a large, fluffy brush to either swirl on the colour on just the apples of the cheeks for a peachy flush or lightly brush over the forehead, cheeks and chin for a sun kissed look.
I’ve been a fan of the BB Creme since it launched but I found the shades were either too light or too dark for my skin- not that that stopped me using them (a dash of bronzer solved that problem quickly enough). Luckily, a midi shade is launching with this collection that’s suitable for a wider range of skin tones.
The Dior Vernis nail polishes are always fun and this season, there’s a jam-pink top coat that you can apply over the pastel polishes in the collection to give them a pink glow or it can be layered on in stages for a pretty tie-dye effect.
